Reading is becoming a family affair – with the help of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
For the Hobson family, reading is becoming a family affair. Both Emma, aged 4, and Samuel, just a baby, are already benefiting from the free monthly books provided as part of the Imagination Library. Their 7 year old sister Lily, also enjoys reading their new books to them.
The Hobson children are two of the 850 Australian children already taking part in United Way’s early literacy initiative in North St Marys in NSW, Doveton in VIC and Acacia Ridge in QLD.
During an interview with a journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald, Emma’s mum commented that she use to say ‘I can’t read the words so I’m not interested’ – but that has changed in recent months since they started receiving their monthly books.
