Loris Glass – President, United Way SA Board
Loris Glass has worked in senior roles across several government departments in areas of policy and program development and implementation on a range of community issues. She has been a member of high level boards including Ministerial Advisory Boards and Government Taskforces.
Loris began her career as a teacher and has raised two children, and two foster children. In 2003 she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to most provinces across Canada and to the UK to study responsible gambling education for young people. This work resulted in speaking engagements at international forums in Canada and the UK, and a consultancy in Nova Scotia.
Loris developed and managed another international project in collaboration with the Institute for the Future of the Mind at Oxford University – the focus was on the application of contemporary principles of neuroscience to learning in the classroom.
She is a past President of the SA Association of Churchill Fellows and is a member of the SA Regional Selection Committee of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. She was on the SA Board of United Way Australia from early 2009 to late 2010 and has previously served as a State Council member of Save the Children. Loris is currently Project Manager with Health Workforce Australia.
Ralph Day - Chief Executive
Ralph has extensive experience with large, medium and small businesses and organisations and has provided consultancy services in business management, training and development, team development, group facilitation, business and strategic planning, organisational change and development, project management and business and personal coaching. He has also lectured on business topics and provided training on personal development and leadership.
Ralph has a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Certificate in Management and, has National Accreditation as a Trainer and Assessor.
He is a member of the Australian Institute of Management Consultants, a life member of Australian Junior Chamber of Commerce (formally called Jaycees), a member of Rotary International and Past Chairman of Business Enterprise Centres South Australia and Northern Adelaide Business Enterprise Centre Boards. Past President of United Way South Australia.
Currently the President of the Rotary Club of Salisbury and the District Training Chair for Rotary District 9500 for year 2011/2012.
