United Way brings business and communities together, giving young people the life skills they need to succeed. We align school professionals, students and corporate volunteers around the skills and jobs of the future, and we offer businesses the chance to give back to the community in which they operate, supporting their corporate social responsibility goals.
We collaborate with businesses to help build solutions that address issues that resonate with the company’s values and objectives.
By working with United Way Australia, supporting the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, organisations make a tangible impact on their local community – improving early childhood literacy, better educational outcomes and overcoming inequality.
Our corporate community partnerships also link businesses to schools – further expanding our ability to help organisations achieve objectives. These partnerships support young people to succeed; to be motivated to attend school and consider further education opportunities – to be ready for the world beyond school.
Mentors tell us (and this is supported by research) that they gain a lot by being involved. They enjoy the connections they create with the students and feel real satisfaction knowing they have made a difference. Helping a student navigate through their first ever interview and giving tips and advice is an empowering experience (for both parties).
They also say that being involved helps build confidence, communication skills and leadership skills that helps them in their professional life.
Together we are actively contributing to creating a sustainable and equitable future for the younger generation.
Help inspire high school students by sharing your advice and experience through mock interviews, career mentoring, career days and tailored workshops.
Host a high school class for a day in the office, providing them insight into life in the ‘real world’ and your area of expertise.
