United Way brings business and communities together, giving young people the life skills they need to succeed. We align school professionals, students and corporate volunteers around the skills and jobs of the future, and we offer businesses the chance to give back to the community in which they operate, supporting their corporate social responsibility goals.
Through business community partnerships, we offer young people the opportunity to experience life in the workplace, mentoring and inspiring them to discover the world of possibilities that exist after school.
In our flagship business community partnership in Macquarie Park, the business community has enthusiastically invested their time, effort and money to support local residents and address pockets of need close to their offices. The core group of members includes FujiFilm Business Innovation, Johnson & Johnson, Macquarie Telecom Group, Optus, ORIX and Tech Data.
These companies have all demonstrated extraordinary commitment to making a difference, and as a result of this valuable initiative, our collaborative work across the Ryde community has helped more than 5000 children and high school students.
Our business community partnerships offer employee engagement opportunities for staff including; volunteering, fundraising, leadership and professional development.
As well as being a social change agent in the community, this partnership is a great opportunity for employee engagement. Staff members can use their passion, expertise and resources to support the implementation of local early literacy and transition to work programs.
This vital community work enables meaningful collaborations, where employees can experience the joy of giving back as they make a real difference to the lives of young people in their community.
