Strengthen the Partnership Between Home and Kindergarten with School Readiness Funding and the Imagination Library
Supporting the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
The Imagination Library caters to the developmental needs of children aged 3-5 years by focusing on SRF priority outcome areas:
- Communication (Language, Literacy & Numeracy)
- Wellbeing (Social, Emotional and Executive Function)
- Access, Inclusion and Participation
The Imagination Library:
- Is an evidence-based early literacy program
- Sends a book each month to the home of every registered child
- Provides a sample book to your service
- Includes reading support material for families and educators
- Includes resources that build educator capability for seamless integration into your programming
Imagination Library Books Are:
- High-quality and age-appropriate
- Selected by an Australian Book Selection Committee of early childhood literacy experts
- Culturally safe and inclusive with several books written by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors and illustrators
Program Cost:
- Annual administration fee: $250 + GST
- Monthly cost per child: $9
- Monthly cost per sample book: $9
This program has been a wonderful support in our aim to focus on children’s developing language skills with a particular focus on oral language and rich verbal interactions involving books.
