Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Australia: looking back on 2024

We’ve sent 445,634 books this year

Thanks to our dedicated community partners—we’ve sent hundreds of thousands of books to children across Australia this year. Their dedication and hard work have made this milestone possible, bringing the joy of books into the hands of children and inspiring a love of reading.

Together, we’ve achieved incredible milestones in 2024. From growing enrolments to record book deliveries, these highlights showcase the power of collaboration. This year, we’re thrilled to welcome even more partners, expanding the program to reach more Australian children and their communities.

In 2024 we opened new programs across:

Dubbo NSW, Balranald NSW, Liverpool Plains NSW, Onkaparinga SA, Benalla VIC, Gippsland South VIC

DPIL is doing more than delivering books, it’s building community connections

Take John, a doting dad from Kurri Kurri. For John and his family, the program has been a “real blessing for connecting with the community.” Attending Baby Rhyme Time at Kurri Kurri Library, where Imagination Library books often take centre stage, has helped them feel at home in their new town.

“My wife and bub attend Rhyme Time each week, where the Imagination Library books are often read to the kids. I’m lucky to have the day off today, so I could come along,” John shares.

Through the joy of reading, families like John’s are creating lasting bonds and finding a sense of belonging in their community.
